The COVID-19 pandemic is undoubtedly the most significant world event that has a far-reaching influence in 2020. However, according to statistics, compared with the previous year, 2020 has witnessed an increase of more than 5% in the total retail sales volume of cosmetics in China. In 2020, except for the first three months, the recovery of the cosmetics industry began in April. Since then, it has maintained positive growth, and the year-on-year growth rate of cosmetics sales volume is far higher than that of gross merchandise volume. After experiencing the pain of the pandemic, the cosmetics industry has achieved a rapid recovery, with significantly increased market sales. Even the pandemic cannot stop "the love of beauty". At present, the main cooperation between JALA and SCAL is sunscreen products, characterized by obvious sales low season and peak season, so sunscreen products are basically produced at the beginning of the year and sold in the middle of the year.
However, due to the pandemic, the peak season for sunscreen production shifted tothe period when the production capacity is most affected. From applying to relevant authorities for partial resumption to full resumption of work, the path to work resumption is full of struggles, such as staff shortage and traffic difficulties. But in order to support the business of JALA and achieve the common ideal of "beauty + public welfare", SCAL has never given up. Under the leadership of Shu Tong, the general manager of SCAL, and with the full support of production, technology, quality and other related departments, SCAL provided coordination services for customers externally and enhanced the production capacity internally. In this way, SCAL managed to meet the demand of JALA to the greatest extent and ensure the sunscreen product supply in the peak season.

At the end of each year, JALA selects suppliers with outstanding performance in various aspects in consideration of their efforts made for JALA’s development. This is also the first time that JALA awarded SCAL.
